Personality & Character
Bernard Monsha is a man of contradictions. On one hand, he exudes arrogance, often coming across as a jerk and a womanizer. His love for liquor is well-documented, and he’s frequently seen with a bottle in hand. However, beneath this rough exterior lies a skilled pilot with supreme confidence in his abilities. Monsha’s rivalry with Ensign Kou Uraki is legendary, and he often finds himself at odds with Mora Boscht, whom he simply dislikes.
History
Monsha’s past is marked by tragedy. He lost the love of his life, Francois, during the Battle of Solomon. This event had a profound impact on him, shaping his personality and actions in the years that followed. Alongside his squadron mates Alpha A. Bait and Chap Adel, Monsha fought in the One Year War under the command of South Burning. After the war, he was transferred to Torrington Base in Sydney, Australia, where he became embroiled in the theft of the RX-78GP02A Gundam “Physalis.”
The Road to Redemption
Monsha’s journey is one of growth and redemption. Despite his initial arrogance, he eventually softens towards Kou Uraki, particularly after the death of South Burning. He plays a crucial role in the crew of the Albion’s decision to steal the RX-78GP03 Gundam “Dendrobium” and confront the Delaz Fleet. After the success of Operation Stardust, Monsha becomes one of the first members of the elite counter-insurgency unit known as the Titans.
Later Life
In the aftermath of the Titans’ defeat at Gryps, Monsha flees to Mars, adopting the pseudonym “Donald” and joining ReZeon. His later life is marked by a sense of humility, as he comes to terms with his past mistakes and learns to walk with the aid of a crutch.
