Located on the far side of the Moon, Granada is a thriving metropolis and one of the largest lunar cities, second only to Von Braun. Its strategic proximity to the Zeon homeland of Side 3 makes it a crucial hub for intergalactic politics and warfare.

A City of Contrasts

Granada’s history is marked by periods of conflict and cooperation. During the One Year War, the Earth Federation Space Force established a base in Granada, only to be swiftly overrun by the Principality of Zeon. The city remained under Zeon control until the war’s end, serving as the headquarters of Kycilia Zabi’s Mobile Assault Force. The Granada Treaty, signed on January 1, U.C. 0080, brought a temporary peace to the region.

A Hotbed of Resistance

In the aftermath of the One Year War, Granada became a Federation base once more. However, its citizens remained fiercely anti-Federation, and when the Gryps War broke out, the city openly sided with the AEUG resistance group. The Flanagan Institute, established during the One Year War, played a significant role in the development of Psycommu and Psycho-Frame technology, which would later become crucial to the AEUG’s fight against the Federation.

A Manufacturing Powerhouse

During the Second Neo Zeon War, Granada’s Anaheim Electronics plant became the primary manufacturer of mobile suits for the Neo Zeon movement, including the Geara Doga and the Sazabi. The city’s industrial might played a significant role in shaping the course of the war.

Today, Granada remains a testament to human ingenuity and perseverance. The city’s rich history has given rise to a culture of innovation, with its citizens continuing to push the boundaries of technology and exploration.
