Early Life and Ambition
Born in U.C. 0017, Degwin rose to prominence alongside his ally, Zeon Zum Deikun. Together, they established the Republic of Zeon, with Degwin serving as chief of staff. Following Zeon’s mysterious death, Degwin claimed that his dying words declared him the successor. However, many suspected Degwin’s involvement in Zeon’s demise, although no concrete evidence was ever found.
The Rise to Power
Degwin’s eldest son, Gihren, initiated a purge of Deikun loyalists, while Degwin declared Side 3 colony the Principality of Zeon and himself as Sovereign. As time passed, Degwin grew disillusioned with the emptiness of power and handed over control to his children, becoming politically retired. However, he remained consumed by the infighting between his ambitious children, particularly Gihren and Kycilia.
A Father’s Grief
The death of his youngest son, Garma, sent Degwin into a deep depression. He became increasingly detached from the day-to-day operations of Zeon, leaving Gihren to assume control. Gihren’s ruthless tactics and lofty ideals earned Degwin’s disdain, who saw his son as a caricature of Adolf Hitler. Degwin predicted that Gihren’s followers would eventually turn against him.
A Quest for Peace
Despite his reservations about Gihren, Degwin approved the Solar Ray laser project. However, he grew tired of war and arranged a meeting with General Revil to discuss peace negotiations. Tragically, Gihren orchestrated the firing of the Solar Ray, incinerating Degwin and Revil’s respective flagships and much of their accompanying fleets.

As a leader, he was driven by a desire for control, yet ultimately succumbed to the machinations of his own family.
