The Cyclops Team: Elite Operatives of the Principality of Zeon
In the midst of the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon’s Mobile Assault Force deployed a special forces unit known as the Cyclops Team. This elite group of operatives was trained in a variety of skills, including mobile suit piloting, espionage, and sabotage. Their mission was to disrupt the Earth Federation Forces’ operations and gain a strategic advantage for Zeon.
Led by Hardie Steiner
The Cyclops Team was led by the seasoned and cunning Hardie Steiner. Under his command, the team consisted of around twelve members, each with their unique skills and expertise. They were equipped with advanced mobile suits, including the MSM-03 Gogg, MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai, and MS-18E Kämpfer.
Covert Operations
The Cyclops Team’s primary objective was to conduct covert operations behind enemy lines. They would infiltrate Federation bases, gather intelligence, and sabotage critical infrastructure. Their missions were often high-risk, high-reward, and required utmost precision and skill.
Notable Missions
One of their most notable missions was the rescue of Accountant Major Gordon from Federation imprisonment. The team successfully infiltrated the base, freed Gordon, and escaped without being detected. Another notable mission was the attack on the Federation’s Arctic Base, where they attempted to destroy the shuttle carrying the RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1.
Tragic Demise
Despite their successes, the Cyclops Team suffered heavy losses throughout the war. In one fateful mission, they were ambushed by the Federation’s Ripper Squad, resulting in the deaths of several team members. The remaining members were eventually killed in action, with the exception of Hardie Steiner, who was forced to flee and abandon his comrades.
