Mobile Suit Revolution: Rise of the Newtype

Fleeing from Destruction

The Alexandria spaceship is cruising past Earth, with Jamaican Daninghan reprimanding Jerid Messa for his subpar performance in battle. Meanwhile, Lila Milla Rira is observing the Argama, noting its unusual power and defense mechanisms, similar to the old White Base. She suspects that the crew of the Argama might be newtypes, but Jamaican dismisses her concerns.

A New Recruit

On the Argama, Kamille Bidan is surprised to learn that Blex Forer wants to make him a full-fledged AEUG pilot. Blex believes that Kamille’s emerging “special talents” can be developed further. Kamille is hesitant, feeling too young to be a soldier, but Blex reassures him that many soldiers during the One Year War were around his age.

Concealing the Truth

Quattro Vagina, a seasoned pilot, shares his thoughts with Kamille about the Earth Federation government’s ignorance regarding newtype war hero Amuro Ray’s whereabouts. Quattro believes that the government is holding back humanity’s potential by suppressing the truth about newtypes.

A Glimpse into the Past

As the Argama approaches Side 4, Lila reflects on her past, remembering how she stood up for Jerid in front of Jamaican. Jerid, eager to prove himself, demands to know more about newtypes, but Lila becomes self-conscious, feeling vulnerable in her bath towel.

A Briefing and a Betrayal

Jamaican holds a briefing, discussing the Argama’s possible destinations: Side 1, Side 2, or the Moon. Lila proposes splitting the fleet, but Jamaican dismisses her idea, leading to a heated argument. Lila leaves the briefing room, feeling frustrated and undervalued.

A Desolate Colony

The Argama docks at Colony 30, a desolate and windswept place. Quattro, Emma, and Kamille explore the colony, discovering the remnants of a massacre. Quattro recounts the tragic tale of the colony’s citizens, who were gassed to death by the Titans leader Bask Om.

A Hostage Situation

Lila, tracking the Argama, takes Kamille hostage, accusing Quattro of spreading propaganda. The two exchange words, but Lila eventually releases Kamille, fleeing the scene.

A Skirmish and a Revelation

The Argama prepares for attack, with Kamille leading the offensive. Lila engages him in a dogfight, impressed by his piloting skills. She begins to suspect that Kamille is a newtype, but ultimately meets her demise at his hands.

Aftermath

Jerid witnesses Lila’s death, feeling frustrated and helpless. On the Argama, Kamille is congratulated for his first kill, but remains unsure about formally joining the AEUG. The crew, however, is convinced that Kamille is a genuine newtype, likening him to Amuro Ray. As the Argama heads towards the Moon, Kamille grapples with his newfound identity and the weight of his responsibilities.
