Gryps Colonies on High Alert
As tensions escalate, Jamitov Hymen, founder of the Titans, embarks on a journey to space to observe Gryps, a crucial location in the midst of a power struggle. The two colonies that comprise Gryps are being repositioned closer to Luna II, signaling a significant escalation in the Titans’ plans to fortify their stronghold.
Amuro’s Unexpected Visitors
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Amuro Ray takes to the skies in a replica Edgley EA-7 Optica. Upon landing, he’s surprised to find Fraw Bow, now Fraw Kobayashi, accompanied by Katz, Letz, and Kikka, all grown up. They engage in casual conversation, but the atmosphere turns tense when Amuro is questioned about the situation at Jaburo. Unbeknownst to Amuro, the employees surrounding him are actually Earth Federation soldiers, keeping a close eye on his every move.
A Rift Between Friends
As the evening unfolds, Katz accuses Amuro of cowardice for refusing to participate in the war, leading to a heated argument. Fraw intervenes, revealing her plans to relocate to Japan with the children. The once-strong bond between Amuro and his friends begins to fray.
Karaba’s Daring Plan
Hayato Kobayashi, escorting the Audhumla in his XB-70 Valkyrie, informs Quattro that Karaba will soon be forced to abandon Kennedy Airport due to the Garuda’s presence. Quattro is tasked with arranging a pilot for the space shuttle, which will transport AEUG pilots back to space, where they’ll rendezvous with the Argama.
A Traitor in Their Midst?
As Hayato oversees the shuttle launch, he receives disturbing news: Oakland’s Newtype Lab is now under Titan control. A cryptic message from Kai warns him that Lieutenant Quattro may be none other than Char Aznable, leading Hayato to question Quattro’s loyalty. Quattro, however, remains tight-lipped, fueling suspicions about his true identity.
Desperate Measures
With time running out, Quattro takes control of the operation, ordering the simultaneous launch of two space shuttles: one for the pilots and another for the mobile suits. Apollo is tasked with piloting one of the shuttles, while Kamille assists with loading the mobile suits onto the freighter. As tensions reach a boiling point, the Buran platoon, led by Buran Blutarch’s NRX-044 Asshimar, launches a surprise attack on Kennedy Airport.
A Hero Falls
In the ensuing battle, Roberto sacrifices himself to protect the shuttle. Kamille and Quattro valiantly defend against the enemy, but not before the Asshimar transforms into a mobile suit, catching them off guard. By combining their mobile suits’ jumping power, Kamille and Quattro manage to fend off the enemy, scoring a hit and forcing them to retreat. The remaining shuttle, carrying the AEUG pilots, takes off, but the flying enemy gives chase. Kamille and Quattro escape on the Audhumla, leaving behind the Sudori.
The Aftermath
With the Jaburo operation concluded, the world is now aware of the deepening rift within the Earth Federation Forces. Kennedy Airport and the Sudori fall under Earth Federation control, while Hayato informs Quattro that the Audhumla is headed towards Hickory, where Karaba has allies near Vandenberg. In space, the shuttle operated by Apolly reaches the Argama, marking a new chapter in the conflict.
