Luna II: The Strategic Astroid Base

Located at Lagrange point 3, Luna II is a crucial astroid base introduced in the iconic anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. Initially known as Juno, this mining asteroid was repurposed as the headquarters of the Earth Federal Space Force in UC 0060.

A Brief History

In UC 0070, Luna II was relocated to L3 to facilitate the construction of the new Side 7. Despite its inconvenient location, far from the moon and most space colonies, Luna II became the Federation’s last stronghold in space after the devastating opening month of the One Year War. Throughout the war, the base served as a naval base and staging area for the Federation, playing a vital role in their operations.
