This fortified asteroid, also known as Confeito or Konpei Island, has been utilized by both the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation as a military stronghold.

Overview

Solomon’s unique shape, resembling a 6-pointed star polyhedron or an octahedron, provides it with a natural defense system. Its strategic location in the “Sea of Solomon” allows it to control the surrounding space, making it a vital asset for any faction seeking to dominate the region.

History

During the One Year War, Solomon served as the frontline base of Dozle Zabi’s Space Attack Force, launching numerous attacks against the Earth Federation. However, the Battle of Solomon in U.C. 0079 saw the Federation gain control of the asteroid, forcing Zeon to evacuate and rename it Confeito. The base continued to play a significant role in the war, serving as a staging area for the EFSF’s invasion of Zeon’s home territory.

In U.C. 0083, Confeito was the target of the Delaz Fleet during Operation Stardust, resulting in significant damage to the Federation’s naval forces. Despite this, the asteroid remained a prominent military base, used by the Titans during the Gryps War and later by the Federation Forces in the U.C. 120s.

Design and Features

Solomon’s design is characterized by its unique shape, which provides natural defenses against attacks from various angles. The asteroid’s surface features a command center, beam cannon defenses, and a space gate. Its interior is equipped with facilities for mobile suit maintenance and deployment.
