The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam: A Transformable Mobile Armor
Developed by the Earth Federation Forces’ Murasame Newtype Lab, the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is a transformable mobile armor introduced in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. This massive machine stands at an impressive 40 meters tall, more than twice the size of a regular mobile suit. Its sheer bulk is due to the incorporation of several concepts from the MSN-02 Zeong, including a Minovsky Craft System, an anti-beam barrier, and complex transformation mechanisms.
Design and Features
The Psycho Gundam has a unique design, with a bulky body and long, slender limbs. Its head is shaped like a v-fin, with two small mega beam cannons mounted on either side. The unit’s body is covered in a Gundarium Alloy armor, providing excellent protection against enemy attacks. The Psycho Gundam is equipped with a Psycommu System, which allows it to be controlled by a Cyber Newtype pilot.
The unit’s transformation capabilities are one of its most impressive features. It can transform into a Mobile Fortress Mode, allowing it to fly through the atmosphere and engage in combat with ease. The Minovsky Craft System enables the Psycho Gundam to defy gravity and achieve high speeds.
Armaments
The Psycho Gundam is heavily armed, with a range of weapons at its disposal. Its head-mounted mega beam cannons are capable of dealing massive damage to enemy units. Additionally, the unit has three diffuse mega-be mega2019, which can fire multiple energy beams simultaneously. The Psycho Gundam’s fingers are equipped with beam cannons, providing it with a high volume of firepower.
Pilots and Variants
The Psycho Gundam was piloted by Four Murasame, a skilled Cyber Newtype pilot. The unit has several variants, including the KRX-009 Full Burst Psycho Gundam and the MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II.
