The Battle of Gryps, a pivotal conflict in the Gryps War, marked the final confrontation between the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) and the Titans. This intense battle, which took place on February 22, 0088 U.C., would ultimately decide the fate of the war and shape the future of the Earth Sphere.

Following the AEUG’s victories at the Destruction of the Gate of Zedan and Operation Maelstrom, the Titans and Axis Zeon sought to counterattack against the AEUG by capturing or destroying the Gryps 2 Colony Laser. The AEUG, determined to protect the colony laser, prepared for battle.

On February 20, the forces of the AEUG, Titans, and Axis Zeon clashed in a fierce fleet battle around the colony laser.
