Gates Capa is a male human with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is affiliated with the Titans and pilots the NRX-055 Baund Doc. His Japanese voice actor is Kazuki Yao.

Background

Gates is one of the artificially enhanced Cyber-Newtypes produced by the Earth Federation’s Augusta Newtype Lab. While not as powerful as Rosamia Badam, Gates lacks the mental instability that plagues Rosamia. Augusta’s scientists utilize Gates to control and stabilize Rosamia’s erratic behavior.

History

Gates first appears as a wingmate for Rosamia Badam during a test mission at Side 2. He pilots the Baund Doc prototype unit one, with Loren Nakamoto as the on-board operator. When Rosamia runs off with Kamille Bidan, Gates pursues them, engaging Kamille in close combat before retrieving Rosamia. Later, Gates escorts Rosamia as she pilots the MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II. During this mission, he defends the Dogosse Giar from Reccoa Londe’s squadron. When Rosamia is killed, Gates suffers a mental backlash, and his fate remains unknown.

Notes and Trivia

Gates’ Japanese voice actor, Kazuki Yao, also voiced Ajis Aziba in the same feature and later starred as Judau Ashta in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
