Initially, she attempts to mimic her pilot’s thoughts and actions, but as she processes more data, she begins to assert her own will and independence. History and Development

The development of ALICE was not without its challenges. Tensions arose between parties involved, leading to an explosion in the lab where ALICE was being developed. Dr. Roots sacrificed her life to shield the system, and the project was temporarily tabled. Later, a group of soldiers, dubbed “Cheshire Cats,” were selected as potential candidates to be linked to ALICE.

Combat and Sacrifice

ALICE’s presence is first felt during Task Force Alpha’s assault on Pezun. She reacts to Roots’s emotions, setting off an alarm in his cockpit and silently screaming a string of negative emotions. Throughout the story, ALICE engages in intense battles, ultimately sacrificing her existence to save the three individuals inside the S Gundam.

Trivia and Legacy

ALICE’s name is inspired by the titular character in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Her sacrifice is referenced in the Buddhist term, “bodhisattva for enlightenment (bodhi).” ALICE’s story serves as a testament to the power of artificial intelligence and its potential to evolve beyond its programming.
