The Rise of Axis Zeon: A New Era of Ambition

In the aftermath of the One Year War, a remnant of the Principality of Zeon retreated to the giant asteroid base Axis, determined to restore the Zabi family to power and conquer the Earth Sphere. This marked the beginning of the first Neo Zeon movement, driven by a fierce determination to reclaim their lost glory.

Leadership and Purpose

Under the leadership of Maharaja Karn and later Haman Karn, Axis Zeon’s primary objective was to restore the Zabi family to its former glory. They aimed to rebuild and reorganize their forces in secrecy, using the Axis base as a mobile fortress. The ultimate goal was to return to Earth and reestablish the Zabi family’s dominance over the Earth Sphere.

Sphere of Influence

Axis Zeon’s sphere of influence extended to the asteroid base Axis, where they had established a thriving community. The base was equipped with advanced facilities, including the Moussa block of living quarters, which allowed for permanent residency.

Mobile Weapons and Armors

Axis Zeon boasted an impressive arsenal of mobile weapons and armors, including the AMA-002S Neue Ziel II, AMX-103 Hamma Hamma, Gazarello, and MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II. These advanced machines were designed to support their military campaigns and protect their asteroid base.

History

The Axis base was originally co-developed by the Principality of Zeon and the Lunar Industrial Federation in UC 0072 as a waypoint for the Jupiter Energy Fleet. After the One Year War, nearly half of the remaining Zeon forces disobeyed orders and fled to the Axis base, where they regrouped and reorganized under Maharaja Karn’s leadership.

Operation Stardust

Under Haman Karn’s leadership, Axis Zeon participated in Operation Stardust, providing support services to the Delaz Fleet. This move was motivated by Haman’s desire to pacify the other Zeon factions and strengthen her cause.

Char Aznable’s Departure

However, Char Aznable, who had initially supported Haman, began to distance himself from her regime. He recognized that her plans for conquest were nothing more than a throwback to Zabi imperialism and threatened to undermine his own vision for a “Perfect Zeon Future.” Char secretly began gathering allies within Axis to join his cause, paving the way for a new era of conflict.

Axis Zeon’s legacy extends beyond their military campaigns and technological advancements. They represent a testament to the enduring spirit of the Zeon people, who refused to accept defeat and instead chose to rebuild and fight on.
