Gundam: Warp Speed Showdown

Gundam Mission to the Rise: A Thrilling Adventure

In the vast expanse of the Universal Century, a new mission unfolds. Gundam Mission to the Rise, a 5-minute CGI movie, takes center stage. Directed by the acclaimed Katsuhiro Otomo, this short film was first screened during the Gundam Big Bang Project event in August 1998.

The Story Unfolds

The Earth Federation is on a quest to propel a craft at faster-than-light speeds. Deep in space, near a mysterious “warp hole,” an experimental facility called Lotos prepares for launch. However, Zeon forces, comprising several Zaku II’s, launch a surprise attack on the facility. Three Gundam-type mobile suits are deployed to defend the facility, but they are no match for the Zeon forces. As the Lotos explodes, the test craft manages to escape, pursued by a similar vehicle operated by the Zeon forces.

The Battle Rages On

The two craft hurtle towards the “warp hole,” their fate unknown. The Federation MS, a white two-seater mobile suit equipped with a beam saber and shield, engages in a fierce battle with the Zeon craft. The outcome of this high-stakes encounter remains a mystery.
