In a last-ditch effort to salvage their operation, Akahana and his team were ordered to create a diversion to facilitate their escape. Despite their valiant efforts, Amuro pursued them, and Akahana became the last of his team to fall when his Acguy was sliced in half by Amuro’s beam saber.

Alternative Storylines

In the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga, Akahana’s role remained largely consistent with his anime counterpart. However, the manga revealed that the Zeon forces infiltrated Jaburo with the assistance of local tribes opposed to the Federation’s industrialization of the rainforest. Akahana’s team successfully breached the GM factory, but their victory was short-lived, as they were eventually thwarted by the White Base Orphans.
